2018 World Press Freedom Day
On the occasion of the 25th World Press Freedom Day, join Denver’s Africa Agenda in a discussion focusing on African news, with special guest speakers and performers. Featuring singer, Colorado’s own Kim Seaborn.
Beginning in 2013 each year Africa Agenda has led the celebration of World Press Freedom Day in Denver. The day is set aside by the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural organization (UNESCO) to recognize the contributions of journalists and bloggers around the world as well as the importance to internet freedom as a foundation for international development.
This year we’re bringing attention to the actions you can take to support and improve the delivery of Global African News. The organization plans to unveil its newest initiative, Africa News Matters, during the event. Africa Agenda recently made changes to its website to reflect the critical steps it needs to take to lead a fight against global Africa misinformation. You too can be a part of this movement for change. Students, professors, news managers, bloggers, community leaders are especially invited!
